Shoplifting costs the retail industry $35 billion every year, but Baby's & Kid's 1st, a child-focused retail chain in Texas, was able to recoup some of their loses.

Yvette Muller and her husband, who have owned the stores for 28 years, recently received an anonymous letter with $50 with a note that read “for merchandise,” FOX26 reported.

“It warms your heart that someone had a change of heart, perhaps a reflection of right (versus) wrong when so much has gone wrong in the world the last week,” the store posted on Facebook.

“Thank you to this anonymous person who makes us believe in mankind again. We are thankful.”

According to NPR, shoplifting spikes around this time of year.
