Organizers of the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, are cracking down on participants filming and taking photos during the event by issuing a $4,100 fine.
A man participating in Friday’s run took a photo of himself running just inches from charging bulls, according to The Local. A 1,500-pound bull reportedly came within inches of goring the man.
Spanish public television TVE allegedly asked participants to “send their best San Fermin selfies to win a prize,” but have changed their tune after learning of a new bylaw against filming.
“Be careful, we didn’t quite mean that,” TVE tweeted this week.
So far three people, all of them British, have been fined at the 8-day San Fermin festival.
One man was fined $880 for filming the run with a drone.
Tens of thousands travel to the Navarran capital for the festival each year. Nearly half of the people who took part in last year’s bull runs were from foreign countries.
Four Spaniards and one American were gored this year.
