Serbian Woman's Good Looks Almost Cost Her Her Sports Reporting Job

A beautiful female reporter nearly lost her sports reporting job because the players found her beauty to be distracting.

Katarina Sreckovic is a reporter on a show dedicated to the football – or, to Americans, soccer—team Red Star in Belgrade.

The 25-year-old’s attempts to ask clever questions of the players apparently fell flat because the players became too flustered and nervous to concentrate in her presence.

Sreckovic said that “it was a problem at the start but I think they’ve got used to me now.”

“It was tough though because for a while it seemed as if they might not be able to work with me at all,” she added.

The reporter added that she was “asked to go away a couple of times because I was a distraction on the pitch, and players complained that they couldn’t concentrate.”

Red Star won the European Cup in 1991; Streckovic said that both she and her boyfriend, who is not on the team, are huge fans of the team.

Although the club is now in a severe financial crisis, it is still considered one of the two most important clubs in Serbia. Mail Online reports that it has the biggest fan base of supporters.
