A social media feud erupted between Sarah Palin and Piers Morgan on Friday after the CNN host made fun of her intellect. Palin responded to Morgan by calling his show “shambolic."
The former vice presidential candidate turned down an opportunity to appear on the show for an interview by posting a photo on Facebook (below) of her and a bear she fatally shot and a message saying she was “kind of busy right now.”
Palin’s entire message says: “Oh dear Piers, thank you so much for all your invitations to appear on your shambolic show, including the adoring message you sent. But is it still any wonder why I've politely responded that I'm too busy doing, um, er... pretty much anything to accept the invite? (At least I didn't tell you to “get stuffed”.) And to all our British friends: we ask, what did your friends across the pond ever do to you to deserve your Piers?”
The message has been liked by 3,000 supporters after two hours of being posted. The post now has over 44,000 likes on Palin’s Facebook page.
The host of Piers Morgan Live tweeted “And she’s back” with a link to a fake story from a satire site, The Daily Currant, alleging Palin believed Jesus celebrated Easter.
Morgan was “gleefully tweeting out a Currant story attacking Sarah Palin, without noting that the story was untrue,” according to conservative website Breitbart.
“Un-bear-able,” Morgan responded with a tweet. “Being called 'shambolic' by @SarahPalinUSA is most amusing. I wonder if she can see irony from her house?”
He was referring to a Saturday Night Live sketch about Palin during her 2008 campaign for vice president, when comedian Tina Fey as the Alaska governor said: “I can see Russia from my house.”
Morgan says the invitation for Palin to show up for an interview still stands.
