A new nonprofit group in San Francisco is hoping to give patrons the opportunity to give back to the community by getting smashed.

A registered 501c3 nonprofit, United Libations Foundation, hopes to become San Francisco's first ever not-for-profit bar. By partnering up with an event operations group that will handle all the drinks and bar set up, the foundation hopes to start doing pop-up fundraising events across the city with all of the proceeds going to small scale charity projects around the world, SFist reported.

If you buy a $7 highball, $1.75 goes to charity, according to an infographic on the group’s site. A $10 martini nets out to a $2.50 donation.

To get the project up and running, United Libations has started an Indiegogo campaign to raise $8,500 to pay for bar equipment and cover the costs of rent and start-up operations. A little bit more than $2,000 has been raised.

According to the foundation’s website: “WE ARE SAN FRANCISCO'S FIRST NOT-FOR-PROFIT BAR. 100 percent of profits go to development projects across the globe. Come in — have a drink — and help change lives at the same time. United Libations. More than just a night out.”
