An Akron, Ohio man attacked a postal worker this week, squirting the carrier with his own pepper spray and then biting him on the leg.

Robert Kiefer, 25, was apparently frustrated over a check still in the mail when he assaulted the 56-year-old postal worker and then fought with Akron police who were called to the scene.

Police found Kiefer and the mailman in a fight, according to the police report. A small crowd was surrounding them.

Kiefer resisted arrest and was finally subdued when the police pepper sprayed him.

The postal worker was treated at the scene for bite marks and cuts to his knee.

Kiefer was arrested on misdemeanor charges for assault and resisting arrest.

He remained in the Summit County Jail as of Monday. He is due in court Feb. 21.
