Sources say Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had been fighting before West's November 21 hospitalization at UCLA Medical Center in California.
West's behavior became increasingly erratic before he was hospitalized, US Weekly reports. His actions upset not just fans after he canceled his tour, but also an already traumatized Kardashian.
“Kanye’s behavior took a huge toll on their marriage,” says a source.
Since Kardashian, 36, was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on Oct. 3, the marriage reportedly had been growing increasingly tense for the couple.

Kardashian reportedly wanted West, 39, to spend more time with her after the robbery, but West chose to continue traveling for his Saint Pablo Tour.
"She felt like now she needed him to be stable and her rock instead of the other way around," a source said. "Kanye's so used to getting Kim's constant support and codling, but it's always about Kanye."
But it seems West's relative lack of attention to Kardashian may not have resulted from lack of concern.
"The mere thought of his wife being taken from him was too much," a second source said, who explained West would spend an entire night ranting and "freaked out" over what happened to his wife. "It was like his mother's death. Seeing Kim close to death did a major number on him. It sent him into a tailspin."

Yet luckily for West, Kardashian has not left his side. If anything, sources say his Nov. 21 hospitalization may be healing the rift between the two.
"Kim feels relieved he is getting the help he needs," says a source. "She thinks this is what it will take to save him -- and help their marriage.”
Still, reports indicate West has not made much progress while in the hospital, Billboard.com reports.
“Kim says that not much has changed since he was admitted and that his doctors seem concerned,” explained an anonymous source.
Doctors have prescribed various medications and are still trying to gauge what exactly caused his breakdown.
"[West generally has] big ups and downs, but this bout seems to be much more serious," the source added. "In the hospital he has been very paranoid and is under constant watch for his safety."
