SC Teacher Arrested For Sex With Three Students On The Same Night

| by Dominic Kelly

A South Carolina teacher was arrested and charged with three counts of sexual battery on a student after it was discovered that she had engaged in sexual activities with three different students on the same night.

According to reports, 29-year-old Ellen Niemiec of Summerville is accused of having sex with three different students at a house party back in April. Two of the students are allegedly 17 years old and the other is 18 years old. School officials heard about the incident after the house party and immediately reported it to Berkeley County authorities. Niemiec turned herself in after a warrant was issued for her arrest, and now, a judge has set her bail at $21,092, placed her under house arrest, and will not allow her to go to Cross High School or interact with any of the students there.

"She was entrusted with educating and keeping her students safe," said Berkeley County Detective Brian Fenton, according to the Post and Courier. "That's the trust she violated. The Cross community is a very tight-knit, small community. In small communities the school is the center of the community. When a teacher violates her students' trust, she essentially violates the whole community's trust."

The teacher is reportedly married with three children and, according to her attorney David Aylor, this time is “obviously extremely difficult for her and her family.”

Berkeley County School District released a statement on Thursday, maintaining that their biggest concern is the well being of their students.

"The safety of all students is the top priority of the Berkeley County School District," said Berkeley County School District. "Under no circumstances does the Berkeley County School District condone or tolerate any inappropriate conduct between its employees and students."

Niemiec was initially placed on administrative leave when the allegations arose, but now, reports say that she is no longer employed by Cross High School.
