Police tasered a man in Portland International Airport after he threatened to kill the officers for not letting him onto his flight.

Tejawn Edwards of Henderson, Nev., and his two friends were not allowed to board their Spirit Airlines flight on June 21 because they were too intoxicated. Edwards, 25, became hostile towards gate workers, using fowl language and making verbal threats. The Port of Portland police were called.

Much of the commotion was caught on video by a witness.

Police say Edwards was threatening and throwing punches at them as they escorted him from the property.

In the video all that can be seen is a female who was with Edwards resisting as an officer pulls on her bag. Then there is a loud crack, and Edwards falls to the ground. A woman can be heard screaming.

“It’s scary,” traveler Alma Osborn told KION, recalling Edwards falling to the ground. “It’s very scary.”

Edwards was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, attempted assault of a public safety officer.

“You don’t know what can happen when he is in the plane,” Osborn said. “He could be screaming or doing who knows what.”
