Police Searching for 6 Men Who Attacked, Hospitalized American Soldier in Washington

TACOMA, Wash. – After being attacked by a group of six Russian-speaking men, an American soldier is hospitalized and may never move again.

On Saturday, Specialist Korry McClanahan, 25, was attacked and beaten outside of Steel Creek American Whisky Co., where he had been playing pool with friends.

McClanahan and a friend had stepped outside the bar to smoke when they were approached by a group of Russian-speaking men. According to his friend, McClanahan attempted to walk away from the confrontation, only to be “bum rushed” by the other men.

One of the attackers punched McClanahan so hard that he was instantly knocked unconscious. He hit his head on the sidewalk as he fell.

McClanahan’s friend said that the attackers then quickly piled into a black Infiniti G35, model year 2005 or 2006, and drove away.

McClanahan is currently at Madigan Army Medical Center. Doctors were forced to remove a piece of his skull to relieve swelling in his brain.

His family has gathered to be near him at the hospital.

“He doesn’t look like my son right now,” his mother, Lisa Senecal, said. “No mother, no father, no family should have to go through what our family is going through.”

“They don’t know what the long term affect is going to be,” Senecal added.

What is certain, however, is that McClanahan will be facing a long road to recovery.

McClanahan’s parents have said that doctors intend to take him off the ventilator shortly to see if he can breathe on his own. The extent of his injuries will become more clear after the sedatives he has been on wear off.

McClanahan has a 4-year-old so in Corona, Cali.

Police are currently searching for the group of men who attacked McClanahan.
