Police Search for Parents or Guardians of Toddler Abandoned in Stroller in New Orleans

After police found a crying toddler abandoned in his stroller on a sidewalk in New Orleans yesterday. They are urging the one-year-old’s parents or guardians to come forward and claim responsibility for him and their actions.

The boy was reportedly left on Martin Luther King Boulevard for 45 minutes on Saturday. Concerned residents contacted police after hearing the child crying and noticing the stroller had been left alone for some time, reports the Times-Picayune. After a thorough search of the area, police say they were still unable to locate the toddler’s parents.

The boy has been placed in custody of the Department of Child and Family Services as the investigation continues.

Police have urged anyone with information about the child to contact Child Abuse Detective Nakeisha Barnes at 504-658-5267.
