A Texas man thought he was doing his part to help out when he agreed to drive three men to a local gas station. But his good deed turned to misfortune when the men stole his car.
The man, only referred to as a "Good Samaritan" for confidentiality purposes, drove the men to a Valero gas station in Fort Worth, Texas, around midnight on Aug. 25, according to The Dallas Morning News. While he got out of the car to pump gas, two of the three men went inside the store to pay. The third man, who was still in the car, hopped into the driver's seat and started the ignition.
The driver, enraged, tried to fight the attempted thief off in the driver's seat. The man unexpectedly took out a gun and fired it into the air. The Good Samaritan could only watch helplessly as the other two men jumped back into his car and drove off.
The car was later found wrecked a few miles away, the Star-Telegram reports. Police are still looking for the three suspects and are asking the public for help.
