Ronald Pritchett was arrested on Nov. 26 for allegedly stabbing his father to death, and injuring his mother during an argument over food in Gretna, Louisiana, on Nov. 25.

Pritchett, who is from Purvis, Mississippi, was visiting his parents over the Thanksgiving holiday when he got angry over a meal, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Pritchett allegedly grabbed a knife, kicked down a locked bedroom door and began stabbing his dad, Percival Pritchett, and mom, Renta, notes NBC News.

Percival suffered multiple stab wounds in his chest, and died soon after arriving at a local hospital.

Renta had non-life-threatening wounds to her head.

Pritchett allegedly fled his parents' home in his dad's car, and was arrested around 3 a.m. the next morning at a relative's house near Purvis, according to the Lamar County Sheriff's Office.

Law enforcement claimed that Pritchett resisted arrest, and police dogs were used to take him into custody, reports WDSU.

Pritchett will be transferred to Jefferson Parish, and is expected to be booked for second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and auto theft.
