The man who fatally shot and murdered singer Christina Grimmie after a concert in Orlando reportedly traveled from another Florida city to carry out the attack.

The suspected gunman, 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl of St. Petersburg, had two handguns, a hunting knife and loaded magazines on him when he committed the murder, ABC News reports.

“The suspect traveled to Orlando apparently to commit this crime,” Orlando police chief John Mina told reporters.

Loibl had not demonstrated anything "that would stand out or raise suspicious that he would do something like this,” police spokesman Rick Shaw said.

Grimmie’s brother tackled Loibl to the ground after he shot his sister following a performance at Orlando’s Plaza Live. The suspect then fatally shot himself.

“During the struggle, the suspect shot himself,” officer Wanda Miglio said. "The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Her brother is a hero for saving and stopping him from not hurting anyone else."

Grimmie’s reps confirmed her death in a statement:

It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord. She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn't survive the gun shot wounds. We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning. If you'd like to give back to Christina's family in her memory, please consider donating to the families GoFundMe page in their time of need.

Grimmie’s friend, Ashley Nicole, said the singer never discussed security concerns prior to the fatal shooting, E! News reports.

“Christina never talked about security concerns at all,” she said. “There didn't seem to be any warning signs at all."
