Tulsa, Oklahoma, police are now looking into a claim posted by a self-professed serial killer on Craigslist.

A Craigslist user initially reported the post to police, Fox 13 reports. Police then subpoenaed Craigslist for information.

“Thanks [Tulsa for] letting me have my first kill,” the post reads, in part.

The alleged killer noted that he plans to go on to Oklahoma City for his next kill. He described the first kill as “stranger on stranger” so that police will have a hard time pinning down the motive and suspect.

According to police, the subpoena could take a while. In the meantime, Dave Walker of the Tulsa Police Homicide Unit suggested that the post is likely a scam or hoax.

“You know, we don’t have anyone who is unaccounted for,” Walker told Fox 13. “We don’t have a dead person that we haven’t figured out.”

Walker added that he had seen something similar when a person with a Tulsa area code began texting people about burying a body. He noted that the difference between the text messages and the Craigslist post is that the post lists the names of local officials, which suggests a familiarity with the area.

Police have had no further updates as of Jan. 7.
