Authorities are now questioning a person of interest in connection with a shooting that killed a man in Redondo Beach, Calif. on Friday.

Erick Julian Ortega, 27, is being identified as a person of interest in the crime as his Chrysler 300 was parked a few blocks from where Bobby Darren Reynolds was shot.

It seems the attack came out of no where, as Reynolds was only in town to visit family and was complete defenseless.

"This was a cold-blooded heartless attack," Capt. Jeff Kink said.

Fortunately, there were witnesses to the shooting. All witnesses said they saw the shooter run to the Chrysler. There were two men, both in their 20s. One was wearing an Oakland Raiders shirt and another was wearing a white shirt.

Reynolds was treated at the scene by paramedics, but was declared dead at County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

"Redondo Beach Police Department detectives are actively investigating this murder," Hink said. "It appears that the victim was specifically targeted and that the shooting was not a random event."

Ortega has connections with gangs and was previously convicted of robbery, threatening to kill someone, resisting arrest, drug possession and being a felon in possession of ammunition.

He is 5'6", 160 pounds and has many tattoos, most notably one of a marijuana leaf, a naked woman and "Redondo how do you want it."
