An Ontario, Canada, man’s act of kindness was captured on camera and quickly went viral.

Godfrey Cuotto — a 21-year-old student in Hamilton, Ontario, was photographed holding hands with a special needs man named Robert on a local bus, according to Huffington Post Canada. The photo was subsequently shared on Facebook on Oct. 6 and soon went viral.

Cutout said he was on his way home from a restaurant when he got on the bus and encountered a man who wanted to shake his hand. Reluctant at first, Cuotto decided to give him a handshake.

“He kept holding my hand,” he told Huffington Post Canada. “I thought I was getting pranked at first, but he just needed comfort."

Throughout the half-hour bus ride, Robert held Cuotto’s hand, hugged him and leaned on him for comfort.

“I just allowed it, like what am I going to do?” Cuotto said. “Sometimes you just have to be selfless and put someone else's needs above yours."

Robert’s family subsequently reached out to the young man and thanked him for his selflessness. Their relative, they revealed, suffered from Cerebral Palsy and was deaf.

On Oct. 8, Cuotto said his kindness came from his mother, telling the Toronto radio station Kiss 92.5 that he was “raised by a queen.”
