Philadelphia Restaurant Debuts Donut Cheesesteak Burger

Philadelphia-based restaurant PYT launched its latest fattening creation on Tuesday – a concoction called the Donut Cheesesteak Burger.

The creation consists of a beef patty topped with cheddar, steak meat, fried onions and Cheez Whiz all placed between a grilled glazed donut.

The burger made its first appearance on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

“Say hello to the Donut Cheesesteak Burger,” the caption reads. “It’s a beautiful, delicious beast.”

PYT owner Tommy Up insisted that the new addition to the menu is a perfect fit for the restaurant’s location, since Philadelphia is famous for being the home of the Philly Cheesesteak.

“Living here we are surrounded by cheesesteaks. We live and breathe the cheesesteak,” Up said. “So we took our favorite hometown food and combined it with our PYT Burger and our other favorite food, donuts.”

Up estimated that the burger amounts to almost 1,400 calories, which he admitted was a conservative guess. Despite the shocking calorie intake, Up says the burger is a perfect balance between sweet and salty, which the restaurant is known for.

The Donut Cheesesteak Burger costs $15 and will be available at PYT for the remainder of the summer.
