Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 Passenger Jokes On Facebook About Plane Disappearing

| by Dominic Kelly

A Dutch man on Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 posted a picture of his plane to Facebook and joked about it disappearing not long before it was shot down yesterday.

According to reports, Cor Pan was traveling on the flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpar with his girlfriend when it was shot down over Ukrainian airspace. Pan joked about his plane disappearing a short time before boarding the flight that would ultimately end his life, and his joke was clearly in reference to the Malaysian Airlines flight that disappeared over the Indian Ocean back in March.

“If it should disappear, this is what it looks like,” Pan wrote on his Facebook page.

After news broke that the flight was shot down over East Ukraine yesterday, Pan’s picture went viral and was shared thousands of times.

“I was working in the field on my tractor when I heard the sound of a plane and then a bang and shots,” a witness named Vladimir said of the crash. “Then I saw the plane hit the ground and break in two. There was thick black smoke.”

Officials are still investigating the tragic incident and are currently trying to figure out who is responsible for the shoot down.
