James Lusted, 26, got a little surprise recently on a dinner date with his soon-to-be bride.
Lusted took a seat at his table and waited as a waitress walked over with a couple of menus. When the waitress got to the table, she greeted him and his fiancée and handed them menus along with…wait for it…crayons and a coloring book.
Lusted, who has dwarfism, chuckled and said, “Thank you.”
The waitress quickly realized her mistake and took the coloring book off of the table.
“As I said thank you to the waitress she heard my voice and knew I wasn’t a child,” Lusted tells Wales News. “She immediately put the coloring book behind her back in shock. But I am man enough to see the funny side – I would never take offense.”
Kudos to Lusted for taking the mistake in good humor. He and his fiancée, 20-year-old Chloe Robert, are scheduled to marry in 2016. Lusted, for one, sounds like he can't wait for the big day.
“I have often thought from an early age, ‘Who would want to marry me, a dwarf from Wales?’” he told Wales News. “But then I met Chloe and everything just fell into place.”
