| by Sarah Fruchtnicht

A “Sexy School Girl 5K” scheduled in Raleigh, North Carolina, was canceled after a backlash from concerned citizens.

The controversial race was scheduled for August and asked that participants dress as nerdy, sexy schoolgirls.

Organizers canceled the race Thursday after community members objected, according to Raleigh City Councilwoman May-Ann Baldwin.

According to the organization’s website, there are other sexy schoolgirl races scheduled in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Tampa and Virginia Beach.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

“Looking for a new, exciting active event? How about one that allows you to dress up like a sexy school girl or nerd on a day other than Halloween?” the website says.

The event is followed by drinking.

“Run, skip, or walk your way through the hallways of detention, math, and english, followed by recess that turns into a pub crawl!” the website says. “Sexy School Girl 5k encourages all to attend this new after school activity! 18+ to run, 21+ to attend pub crawl! Those who sign up will receive a free beverage!”

The Sexy School Girl 5K works with the nonprofit MATHCOUNTS Foundation, which holds a national middle school math competition each year.
