Russ Flynn was arrested on Dec. 23, 2014, for allegedly aiming a rifle at a neighbor and disregarding the orders of a police officer in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Flynn was subsequently taken to the Las Cruces Police Department jail and booked.

While in a jail cell, Flynn kicked the metal door and talked back to police officers.

A recently released video (below) shows two officers - Richard Garcia and Danny Salcido - rushing into the jail cell and beating the handcuffed man, noted KRQE.

Flynn was injured so badly that he had to be taken to a local hospital and admitted to an ICU unit for several days.

The police report by Officer Garcia contradicts the video, "[Flynn] was walked back all the way where he did hit his back and head against the wall."

Officer Garcia also claimed that he knee-kicked Flynn “to distract him from grabbing at the officer’s belt."

Flynn’s lawyers have sent a notice to the City of Las Cruces saying that they intend to sue for $12.5 million, noted WRAL.

Flynn’s attorneys also asked the Dona Ana County District Attorney’s office to press criminal charges against the cops.
