NBC’s New Year’s Eve host Carson Daly wore an NYPD hat on Wednesday night, leading to mixed reactions from those on social media.

Daly was both praised and criticized for his fashion statement following the death of Eric Garner in New York City. NYPD officers have since been under fire by those claim they used excessive force.
