A mother is upset after she and her infant son were accidentally locked inside a Washington urgent care facility while they were waiting to see a doctor.

"I'm hurt, I'm disappointed, I'm disgusted," Savannah Lewitt told KOMO. "And I was more concerned for my son.

Lewitt took her 4-month-old son, Kason, to the MultiCare Puyallup Urgent Care in Puyallup, Washington, to see a doctor for Kason's cough at around 7 p.m. on Oct. 20.

At 7:30 p.m., Lewitt was called back to an exam room where they were told to wait for the doctor to come check Kason's cough. After 40 minutes, no one had come, reports MommyPage.

The mother had gotten tired of waiting and walked out of the exam room to see if she could find someone. She was shocked to find the urgent care center had closed for the night.

"I started crying," Lewitt said. "They left me like my son and I meant nothing."

Lewitt tried to leave with Kason, but set off an alarm when she tried to open the door.

A cleaning crew found them soon after and let them out of the facility.

"I was more angry and disappointed for my son," Lewitt told KOMO. "He was the priority, not me. Him."

MultiCare apologized to Lewitt for the incident, but the mother says she still cannot excuse what the staff did.

"Because the feeling I left, and how scared and alone, like I couldn't do anything," she said. "I don't want somebody to ever go through that feeling. It was horrible."
