Mo'ne Davis Asks Bloomsburg University To Reinstate Player Who Slammed Her On Twitter

Mo’ne Davis, the little league baseball sensation who’s the inspiration for an upcoming Disney biopic, was recently slammed by Bloomsburg University baseball player Joey Casselberry on Twitter.

Casselberry was kicked off of the baseball team after tweeting, "Disney is making a movie about Mo'ne Davis? WHAT A JOKE. That s*** got rocked by Nevada."

Davis, 13, and her coach emailed Bloomsburg University President David L. Soltz and asked him to reinstate Casselberry. A representative of Bloomsburg University, which is located in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, told TMZ that they respect Davis’ request, but Cassellberry will remain off the roster.

The team said Casselberry not only violated the athletic department's social media policy, he also might have defied the school’s code of conduct. “Right now we're standing firm,” the university official said.

Casselberry, a sophomore first baseman, has deleted the tweet and said he’s a fan of Mo’ne Davis.

Davis was a star player at the Little League World Series in August 2014. She can throw a 70 mph fastball and hopes to become a major league pitcher.
