In July of 1939, nobody fully knew the horrors that Adolf Hitler would inflict on the world. At the time he was just a vicious, power-hungry would-be war criminal that hadn’t fully tapped into his potential to commit atrocities.
Although nobody could possibly know what exact troubles lay ahead, those who followed Hitler’s activities saw the writing on the wall. And that’s why Mohandas Gandhi wrote a very polite, extremely well-intentioned letter to the German leader.
