A Florida woman missing for nearly 24 hours has reportedly been found by two fifth graders.

Romona Daugs, 55, was last seen by her family at her Willoughby Drive home in North Naples, Florida, around 5 p.m. on Oct. 12. She vanished after going out for a walk around that time, according to NBC News.

Daugs' disappearance prompted a local search effort in which over 100 volunteers combed the surrounding neighborhood for signs of the Collier County woman.

On the afternoon of Oct. 13, almost a day after Daugs went missing, two 10-year-old boys, Matthew Thompson and Dawson Blume, were playing outside in Blume's yard when they saw a woman wandering nearby in the woods.

After spotting the woman, the two boys alerted Blume's mother, who had told them earlier to be on the lookout for Daugs.

Blume's mother then went outside and approached the woman, who was reportedly wearing only a sports bra and appeared confused, according to WTVR.

"My mom was standing right there and she's like, 'Come here, is your name Romona?'" Blume told NBC affiliate WBBH.

"She was shaking," the boy added. "She was cold, scratched up and bleeding."

Paramedics took the woman to the hospital as a precaution, but she is expected to be fine.

Daugs was discovered only a few minutes away from the command center staging area for the search, which included bloodhounds and personnel on ATVs. According to Daugs' family, the woman suffered from dementia and was easily confused.

Family members said they usually used a GPS bracelet to keep track of Daugs, but she wasn't wearing it at the time of her disappearance because it had been malfunctioning recently.

An agency involved in the search said the two boys will receive an award for their good deed.
