Son of convicted pedophile Jerry Sandusky, Matt Sandusky, his wife and four children filed a motion to legally change their name, according to Centre County, Pa., court documents.

In 2012, Jerry Sandusky was convicted of sexually abusing 10 boys during a 15-year period. The adopted son and one of Jerry Sandusky’s six children, Matt Sandusky, confessed to his attorney that his father molested him, too.

He told police he came forward so that his family could know the truth about Sandusky.

"They can really have closure and see what the truth actually is," he said.

It is no wonder he would wanted to severe ties with Sandusky. The file is sealed, according to CNN, so the reason for the request is not available.

He lived as a foster child with Jerry and Dottie Sandusky, who adopted him when he reached adulthood.

In 1996, his birth mother, Debra Long, lost a case to gain custody of her son from the Sandusky family. She had raised concerns that Matt and Jerry had a “rocky” relationship.
