Former teacher Mary Kay Letourneau, who made headlines in 1997 for having sex with her 12-year-old student, was jailed again in Seattle.

Letourneau was arrested Sunday night after failing to appear in court for a suspended driver’s license case. She was wanted for driving without a license and having no proof of insurance, according to prosecutors.

The 51-year-old was booked in the King County Jail and held with bail set at $5,000, then released on Monday afternoon.

Letourneau is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

At the time of her affair, Letourneau was a married mother of four. She was arrested after a relative of her husband’s notified police.

The suburban Seattle teacher was 34 when she was convicted of raping sixth grade boy Vili Fualaau. She served a shortened prison sentence and was paroled in 1998. After the two were discovered together in her car at 3 a.m., Letourneau was forced to serve the rest of her 7-year sentence.

After Letourneau’s release in 2004, the couple married. They currently have two children.
