An Arkansas man has been charged on one count of of murder and two counts of terrorist acts for allegedly shooting and killing a 3-year-old boy due to a case of "road rage" over a delay at a stop sign.
Gary Holmes, 33, surrendered to police on Dec. 22 after being sought for by police on a warrant, said Little Rock police Lt. Steve McClanahan, NBC News reports.
A grandmother and her 3-year-old grandson were on their way to a shopping mall on Dec. 17 when a driver shot at the grandmother's car because he believed she "wasn't moving fast enough at a stop sign."
The grandmother, identified as Kim King-Macon, wasn't hit and contacted police at the shopping center after driving away. She had not realized that her grandson had been shot until she arrived at her destination.

The boy later died at a local hospital.
A family member of the suspect handed him in, Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola said.
The grandmother had driven for about 10 miles until she got to the shopping mall, which was when she discovered Acen King slumped over in his seat, wounded in the neck. A 1-year-old child who was also in the car was not hurt, reports the Daily Mail.
On the 911 call, a record of which has been released to The Associated Press, King-Macon can be heard explaining: "I was at the stop sign and the guy blew the horn at me, and I blew it back. And he shot, but I thought he shot in the air. He shot at the car!"

A court date for Holmes has been set for Dec. 29, KARK reports.
Holmes has been previously arrested for robbery and aggravated and domestic battery in 2002 and 2013, respectively.
