Alvin Cochran Jr. was riding his motorcycle in Columbia, South Carolina, when he was struck by a drunk driver. Thanks to a Good Samaritan who spotted him on the side of the road, he was able to speak to his wife one last time.

Bianca Walker was driving around 9 p.m. when she noticed a man on the side of the road next to a burning motorcycle. She pulled over and, per his request, called Cochran’s wife, Tami.

When Tami answered the phone, Bianca Walker said to her “You don’t know who I am but I’m here with your husband and he’s been in a terrible accident.”

Walker said she put the phone to his ear and he broke down in tears.

“The only thing he said to me was, ‘Babe I’m hurt, come and get me’ and I said ‘I’m coming’ and those were our last words,” Tami Cochran said. “Our very last words to each other.”

Alvin Cochran died on Tuesday.

His wife said she is thankful for Bianca’s thoughtfulness.

Behind the wheel of the car that struck Cochran was 44-year-old William Trexler, who has since been charged with a felony DUI and was granted a $150,000 bond.
