One unfortunate man made a nightmarish discovery after noticing a hole in the kitchen ceiling.

According to Epic Carnage, a man sent in a series of photos taken after he decided to investigate a hole in his kitchen ceiling.

The man noticed a wasp continuously returning to the hole and became curious. What he discovered is sure to make anybody squirm.

He found a strange looking hive inside and decided to cut it open.

Against his better judgment, he decided to go even further.

No thank you!

If you've made it this far, congratulations. According to the sender's research after making the discovery, the wasp nest was made by a type of wasp called a mud dauber.

Mud daubers seek out their prey -- spiders, in this case -- sting them, and lay their eggs inside the prey. According to Iowa State University, the prey is paralyzed by the wasp's sting, giving the wasps the ability to put them inside the nest. Then, the newborn wasps eventually eat their way out from the inside of the spiders.

This is truly the stuff of nightmares.
