A Texas man with a history of bizarre sex acts involving the use of vegetables was sentenced to life in prison for tampering with evidence and drug possession.
Charles Robert Ransier, 56, was hit with the life sentence on June 28 for an incident that took place on March 23, 2015.
On that date, a Texas state trooper had stopped to investigate why a plastic children's slide had been moved along an access road when he came across Ransier, who was sitting near his truck.
Inside Ransier's truck was a girl's swimsuit that had been "laid out perfectly" on the floorboard, according to the Statesman. The officer also noticed melted candle wax and a container of lubricant on the truck's dashboard.

Ransier was not wearing a shirt and had melted candle wax on his chest.
When the officer asked if he could search the vehicle, Ransier attempted to break a syringe that he was holding his hands. The officer ordered him to stop, and when he refused the two men engaged in a physical struggle, according to San Antonio Express-News.
Ransier was eventually placed in handcuffs and the officer was able to test the contents of the syringe, which came back positive for methamphetamine.

A video of the struggle between Ransier and the trooper was shown during Ransier's trial.
It was also revealed during the trial that a search of Ransier's truck turned up a number of odd items, including more children's clothing, Barbie dolls, balloons, candy, baby oil, Viagra, Extenze male enhancement pills, duct tape, rope and a cooler full of frozen cucumbers.
It turns out that Ransier had been previously convicted of nine felony offenses, several of which involved lewd acts with vegetables.
On Nov. 10, 2012, after he was found naked by police officers, Ransier confessed to carrying out a "deviant sex act involving a squash." Two years later, on March 9, 2014, police found Ransier near some baseball fields wearing nothing but women's stockings and committing another deviant sex act with an unspecified vegetable.
In 1995, Ransier was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 15 years in prison after he struck and killed Sgt. Mark Dyer, an Arizona state trooper, with his car. Ransier was driving under the influence of methamphetamine at the time; Dyer was on the side of the road after having pulled over a speeding vehicle.
The Statesman reports that it took the jury less than 30 minutes to convict Ransier this time around. He received a life sentence for tampering with physical evidence, plus an additional 20 years for being in possession of methamphetamine. He was also fined $10,000.
