A Florida man found himself without a job after he made a post on Facebook saying that he wanted to marry his dog.
Ryan Uhler posted a picture of himself with his dog to Facebook, adding this caption: “How is marrying a dog different if you love them? Today, I hope we can focus on doggy style love. I love my dog rocco and he loves me. Hopefully one day we can be married.”
His employers at Grace Advisory Group in Fort Myers, Florida, apparently did not find his comments -- which appeared to take aim at the nationwide legalization of same-sex marriage last week -- so amusing.
“What happened was, they took it out of context,” Uhler told NBC.

According to the married father, what spurred him to make the post was the recent federal passing of marriage equality.
“Gay marriage was passed in all 50 states and I thought it’d be funny to post a picture of me and the dog,” he said.
Eventually, his employers fired him.
“I think going to the point where they’re firing someone is a little bit over the line,” Scot Goldberg, a trial lawyer, told NBC. “I think they have the ability to do that and the legal recourse to do it.”
