Most young voters in the U.S. believe presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is racist and presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton can't be trusted, according to a new poll.

GenForward, A survey of the Black Youth Project at the University of Chicago with the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, found that two-thirds of Americans between the ages of 18 and 30 suspect Trump of being a racist.

Among white voters between the ages of 18 and 30, 58 percent believe Trump is racist. But that number is much higher among blacks (77 percent), Asians (78 percent) and Latinos (81 percent).

"I think if you want to be a moral young person, you can't support Trump," 20-year-old Miguel Garcia, a registered Democrat, told The Associated Press. "It's really hard to back anything Trump does. He just says prejudiced stuff."

The survey did not provide data on whether voters believe Clinton is racist.

Instead, the poll ask voters if they believe Clinton is dishonest or untrustworthy.

Black voters were the most trusting of Clinton, but nearly evenly split, with 48 percent finding her not worthy of their trust. More Asians and Latinos distrust Clinton, with 57 percent and 64 percent suspicious of Clinton, respectively. And the vast majority of white voters -- 82 percent -- believe Clinton is dishonest.

The most popular candidate among young voters is Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who ran against Clinton in the Democratic primary.

Although Sanders was often criticized for being unable to appeal to black voters, the survey found that slightly more black youth voters favored Sanders over Clinton and Trump than white youth voters.

Among black voters between the ages of 18 and 30, 60 percent favored Sanders, while 59 percent of whites picked the Vermont senator. Sanders' appeal was highest among Asians (69 percent) and Latinos (68 percent).
