At-Large-Parolee Mark Royal Led Police On A Chase Over Preferred Prison Food

| by Kathryn Schroeder

Parolee-at-large Mark Royal, 51, reportedly led police on a late-night chase to Placer County Jail because the prison food in that county was better.

The chase occurred on Interstate 80, where Royal was headed east. It was not until he reached the jail that Royal pulled over and surrendered to police, reports KCRA.

The Placer County Sheriff’s department wrote on their Facebook page that when Royal was asked why he drove all the way to the Placer County Jail he said, “the food is better here.”

Royal’s desire to eat the food at Placer County Jail did not work out as he had planned.
