Kris Jenner Blames Producers For Oscars Gaffe

| by Michael Howard

Reality television star Kris Jenner allegedly blamed E!'s producers for a blunder she made while working as the TV channel's red carpet correspondent at the Academy Awards.

Jenner's gaffe came on live TV when she and her co-host, Giuliana Rancic, were discussing actress Ruth Negga's dress. Noticing that the "Loving" star had affixed a blue ribbon to her gown, Jenner wondered aloud what it was.

"What is the blue thing she has there?" she asked, according to Radar Online. "Is that a ribbon?"

"It's the ACLU ribbon that a lot of people are actually wearing on the red carpet tonight," Rancic told her.

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

A seemingly confused Jenner then said: "This is the first one I've seen. That little ribbon."

Many stars wore the ribbon as an expression of solidarity with the American Civil Liberties Union, a non-profit organization dedicated to upholding civil rights.

On Jan. 28, the ACLU fought against President Donald Trump's controversial travel ban, writing on its website that it had filed a lawsuit on behalf of two Iraqi men who were detained at John F. Kennedy Airport while attempting to enter the United States with visas. The group received more than $24 million in donations over the next two days, according to CNN.

It didn’t take long for social media users -- including the ACLU -- to start hammering Jenner for her faux pas.

"It's a ribbon that says you stand for people's rights, [Jenner]!" the ACLU wrote on Twitter.

According to Radar Online, a source that works for E! told them that Jenner "absolutely flipped out when the cameras stopped rolling" and blamed the show's producers for the error.

"Kris accused producers of trying to sabotage her," the source reportedly said. "She actually went on to say that it was their fault that they did not inform her of what the blue ribbons signified."

The source added that Jenner was "mortified at how badly she messed up" and speculated that her red carpet correspondence days are over.

"She will likely not be asked to work the pre-show again," the source said.
