A well-known ISIS militant was killed in battle several days ago.
Multiple reports say that Khalid K. from Almere was taken out amidst fighting in the North part of Iraq. The jihadist had been outspoken on social media, often publishing pictures of himself holding severed heads as well as showcasing other horrific acts of terrorism he committed.
Back in 2011, the jihadist spent a short period of time in jail in the Netherlands after suspicion grew of terrorist activity, but he was eventually freed due to lack of evidence. Soon after, reports say that the man traveled to Syria and eventually aligned himself with the Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS.
Khalid K. was allegedly thought to have been killed back in June, but despite reports and rumors from the Syrian Army, his Twitter activities continued.
Now, Kurdish fighters from the Peshmerga army have confirmed the man’s death.
