Kanye West's family was left grieving after the rapper's cousin Ricky Anderson’s 1-year-old son, Avery, died suddenly.
Avery died in his sleep on March 13, according to an Instagram post by Anderson announcing the tragic news. There were no signs that anything was wrong with the toddler, notes TMZ.
"Today was the worst day of my life!!" Anderson wrote on Instagram along with a black and white photo of his son. "I lost my lil man and gained an angel! Rest in Paradise!!!! I love you man."

Avery had just had his first birthday party in late 2016, which had a Disney theme.
"You've taken a big piece of me with you!" Anderson wrote in a subsequent Instagram post that had a compilation of clips of Avery. "Your mom and I love you so much!!"
Anderson works as a consultant for West's record company, G.O.O.D. Music, in Los Angeles, according to the Daily Mail.

The two are related via West's mother, Donda, who died in 2007 at the age of 58 after suffering complications from surgery, according to the BBC.
This is the latest in a series of problems that West has publicly struggled with in the last year.
In October 2016, West's wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, with whom West has two young children, was robbed at gunpoint in a Paris hotel, reports XXL Mag.
The next month, the "College Dropout" rapper was hospitalized for what a doctor reportedly described as "temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration," after West canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour.
Reports said West was acting erratically and was handcuffed to the gurney and transported to UCLA Medical Center, even though he had calmed down by the time paramedics arrived.
"He's having a nervous breakdown," a source told Page Six at the time of his hospitalization. "He's surrounded by all these crazy people, but there's nobody he listens to or who can rein him in. He's spiraling further and further out of control. Basically everything crazy he does is 'art' -- canceling his tour is 'art' -- he is becoming more and more unpredictable."
After firing his entire staff after several mishaps at one of his fashion shows, West was reportedly working for 48 hours at a time and had been arguing regularly with his wife after the robbery.
The rapper and fashion designer has not yet spoken about the death of his first cousin once removed.
