Hours before he died April 21, Prince reportedly paid his fourth visit to a pharmacy in just one week.

The singer Prince, whose full name is Prince Rogers Nelson, died at age 57 at his home -- only a few days after his team announced that he was suffering from the flu, TMZ notes.

Witnesses allegedly said he was seen the night of April 20 walking into a Walgreens pharmacy near his home in Minnesota looking frail and nervous. He was found dead at his home the next day.

"When deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator," the Carver County Sheriff's Department said in a statement, according to NPR. "First responders attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive the victim. He was pronounced deceased at 10:07 am."

Only a few days before, on April 15, Prince’s plane made an emergency landing in Illinois, and he spent a few hours in the hospital, TMZ reports. His people later said he had the flu.

Even then, some sources told TMZ that Prince was released from the hospital too soon, adding that he was "not doing well” and needed further care.

"Wait a few days before you waste any prayers," Prince said at a dance party near his home the next day, on April 16.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of Prince’s death.

"It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57," Yvette Noel-Schure, Prince's publicist, said, NPR reports. "There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time."

While authorities look for answers, the world mourns the loss of the iconic singer.

"Today, the world lost a creative icon," President Barack Obama said in a statement. "Michelle and I join millions of fans from around the world in mourning the sudden death of Prince. Few artists have influenced the sound and trajectory of popular music more distinctly, or touched quite so many people with their talent. As one of the most gifted and prolific musicians of our time, Prince did it all. Funk. R&B. Rock and roll. He was a virtuoso instrumentalist, a brilliant bandleader, and an electrifying performer."
