A 20-year-old Italian girl died after her long hair got caught in her car’s steering wheel as she was driving.
Caterina Alzetta died as the vehicle careened across the road into oncoming traffic, according to the Daily Mail. Alzetta and her older brother Pietro had to be cut free from the wreckage.
The accident allegedly happened in the northern Italian town of Montereale Valcellina after the young woman had rolled down the window causing her hair to fly about and get tangled in the steering wheel.
Alzetta, whom the Huffington Post notes was a university student studying physiotherapy, died later in the hospital from her injuries.

“My daughter’s hair was thick and long, but tragically her hair got caught in the steering wheel,” said Alzetta's father, Michelle, who is head of the local ambulance rescue emergency service in the town.
“As we understand it when she made a sudden movement of the head it pulled on the steering wheel,” he added.
Two brothers, aged 43 and 48, were in the other car and were also taken to the hospital after the crash.
