Israeli Military Claims To Have Hamas Manual On Warfare, Human Shields

Israel’s military recently claimed that it has a Hamas manual about urban warfare that allegedly talks about the perks of using “human shields.”

Israel Defense Forces officials said that the manual also includes information about employing civilians in warfare and that the current deaths of civilians in Gaza is “intentional and pre-planned,” according to The Blaze. Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by the United States and has had control of the Gaza Strip for about eight years.

The manual’s authenticity has not been confirmed, according to CNN. The alleged document also ironically appears to confirm many things Israeli leaders have said or speculated about.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, allegedly says that Israel has tried to avoid harming Palestinian civilians and that dealing with the densely populated civilian areas is very difficult for Israel’s military. The majority of people killed and injured by the Israel Defense Forces in the conflict have been civilians.

“The soldiers and commanders (of the IDF) must limit their use of weapons and tactics that lead to the harm and unnecessary loss of people and [destruction of] civilian facilities,” the manual allegedly reads. “It is difficult for them to get the most use out of their firearms, especially of supporting fire.”

The manual also reportedly says that the destruction of property in Gaza actually aids Hamas by turning civilians against Israel and causing them to be more supportive of Hamas.

“The destruction of civilian homes: This increases the hatred of the citizens toward the attackers (the IDF) and increases their (support for) the city defenders, (such as Hamas),” the manual allegedly says.

Israel has said that it launched its air strikes in self-defense and the Hamas has been using civilians in Gaza as “human shields.”
