An Iowa billboard criticizing greedy politicians is now facing ridicule for a spelling error in the campaign’s hashtag.
The board was erected to discourage voters from supporting Washington‚Äôs ‚Äúpointless vanity projects.‚ÄĚ However, the hashtag reads ‚ÄúTake Back Are Country‚ÄĚ and has been ridiculed since.
‚ÄúTeaching the difference between ‚Äėour‚Äô and ‚Äėare‚Äô in school?‚ÄĚ one Twitter user wrote. ‚ÄúThat‚Äôs commie bulls---!‚ÄĚ
The campaigner has since addressed the mistake on their Facebook page, which is called Shares From Your Aunt.
The campaigner noted that a lot of ‚Äúcyberbullies‚ÄĚ were correcting the spelling mistake.
‚ÄúI asked the billboard guy about it, and he emailed me saying ‚ÄėLook lady, that‚Äôs the way it‚Äôs written.‚Äô So I hope that settles it. Its written correctly.‚ÄĚ
The campaigner added that if we really want to ‚Äú#TakeBackAreCountry‚ÄĚ then we have to get the message across to an audience bigger than ‚Äújust the Internet.‚ÄĚ
