An unidentified teacher at Martinsville Jr.-Sr. High School in Illinois is accused of stomping on the American flag in front of some students.
The incident was made public when students posted about it on Facebook (video below).
Jonathan Smith, a senior at the school, told TristateHomePage.com:
We can't figure out why he actually went to the simulations of actually doing it. He talked about it being the right to do whatever he wants. That's why it was there so he could do whatever he wants, but we have no idea why he would actually take it down and basically start all this.

On Monday, Martinsville School District Superintendent Jill Rogers said that she placed the teacher on leave for the rest of the school year. The school district is investigating the incident, noted WTHI.
Clifford Clouser, a Navy veteran, joined parents, students and residents outside the school on Tuesday where they took turns carrying the flag.
“There’s just so much history in that flag, some good, some bad, but it’s still our flag," Clouser told WTHI.
Nicholas Gibson, a Marine Corps veteran, added, “It should have never happened. I’m very proud of these kids that have stood up for what they believe in."
