A Houston woman says a tow truck driver became her guardian angel when he showed up to help her just in time to stop a potentially dangerous situation.

"I was on my way to work when my battery light came on," said Danielle Jordan.

Jordan was on Interstate 45 in north Houston on Sept. 29 when her car stopped and left her stranded. As she sat and waited for help, she got an unwelcome surprise.

Jordan had her car's driver side door open and was facing the opposite direction when she felt something touching her leg. There was a man standing there and he quickly made Jordan uncomfortable.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

"He kept messing with something under my dashboard and he kept asking me questions, 'Is somebody coming? What's going on?'" Jordan said.

Just as Jordan started to feel unsafe, tow truck driver Mike Schoppe pulled up behind her.

"I walked up and I saw this guy standing right outside her door," he said. "That time [of] morning, he was kinda shady looking."

"Thank God Mike happened to pull up at exactly the right time and ran that guy off," Jordan said. "I don't know what would've happened otherwise."

Despite Jordan telling Schoppe he is a guardian angel, he says he was just doing his job.

"I didn't do anything special," he said. "I just found a broke down car and I was just helping them out."

Jordan just wants people to know that there are still good people out there and let Schoppe know that she appreciates what he did for her.

"I know you just feel like you are doing your everyday job, but it was good for me," she told him.

Jordan and Schoppe's story comes following a similar incident in which a New Jersey tow truck driver saved the life of a man after noticing he was pinned underneath a car at the scene of an accident. He used his truck to pull the car off the man before emergency responders showed up.
