A text message led authorities to a dead woman and her kidnapped daughter. Gary Love, of Wadsworth, Ohio, is facing a murder and rape charges and is being held without bail.

Love allegedly murdered Robin Denman and held her 14-year-old daughter in their North Carolina home for two days over the Christmas weekend.

Savannah Evans, 13, woke up on Dec. 26 to a text from her friend, the girl who had been kidnapped.

"To call 911, me and my mom need help fast." Evans told WSOC, describing the text message's urgent plea, which was sent at 5:30 a.m.

Evans and her grandmother called Iredell County deputies to check up on her friend's house.

Love answered the door and told police Denman and her daughter had gone to a funeral, the sheriff said.

The suspect then ran to the back of the home before police caught him and later found the 14-year-old girl and Denman's body in the back room.

The teen told officers that Love had tied her up and she had not seen her mother since Christmas Eve.

"Can't believe this. It is something out of the movies," Savannah's mother, Stephanie Evans, said.

Police believe Love may have been a transient in the area for around three months and staying with Denman, whom he knew years ago in New York, according to Daily Mail.

Investigators have discovered an active arrest warrant in Ohio for Love after he failed to appear in court for domestic violence charges from April.

The teenager sent Savannah another text after she was saved, "Saying, ‘You're a lifesaver,' and that really broke my heart," Stephanie said.

The unnamed teenager was treated at a local hospital and later released. She is currently staying with relatives and is safe.

Authorities are still waiting on the mother's autopsy results to figure out her cause of death.

Detectives are in the process of determining whether Love is related to a number of other unsolved crimes.
