A Florida cop saved a woman and her three young children in a dramatic incident that was captured on film (video below).

Deputy Justin Ferrari of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office was one of the police officers who responded to a call placed by Victoria Rosado, 26, on July 24, after her ex-husband fired his gun at them inside her house; she was hit in the leg.

Victoria was inside with her three children, ages 7 to 23 months, when her ex-husband, 26-year-old Emanuel Rosado, refused to leave and even shot at police twice during the incident.

Deputy Ferrari sprang into action when he arrived, getting Victoria and her three children to safety.

Victoria called 911 on July 24 after Emmanuel entered her home and began acting “crazy” according to the sheriff's office. While the mother was on the phone reporting that Emmanuel was trying to break into the bedroom where she was hiding, a scream could be heard in the background. Then the line went dead.

As soon as police arrived, they say they heard a male voice yell, “You’re going to die tonight!” He then fired two shots at police.

Victoria was shot in the leg and attempted to flee the house. Ferrari helped save the woman’s life by getting her safely to a neighbor’s house. However, the three children were still inside the home with Emmanuel. Ferrari then helped the three kids run from Emmanuel.

With Victoria and the kids out of the house, Ferrari returned to check on the other officers before they arrested Emmanuel, who eventually surrendered to authorities.

Police say this wasn’t the first time a call was made involving that address. In a separate event, Emmanuel was arrested and charged with battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Emmanuel has now been charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder. He broke down in tears during his first court appearance.
