Head Of Nike Confirms Company Name Pronunciation

| by Emily Smith

The pronunciation of Nike has finally been cleared up by none other than the head of the sports brand company himself.

Philip Knight, the chair of the board of directors for Nike, was sent a letter that requested he circle one of two pronunciations. When the letter was returned, the word "Nikey" was circled.

Ben Martin and Kendal Peters, both creative advertising students who sent the letter, included a self-addressed and stamped envelope so Knight could simply circle the correct option and return it.

"We had had this friendly bet between us for a while now and decided to write to Philip Knight to once and for all settle one of life's biggest unanswered questions," the two said. "We didn't actually think that he would do it."

The two later posted a picture of the letter with the correct pronunciation.
