Video: Navy SEAL Geno Clayton Shoots Self in Head With "Unloaded" Gun
Submitted by Michael Allen on Jan 6, 2012
Geno Clayton, a 22-year-old Navy SEAL, accidentally shot himself in the head Thursday with a gun that he thought was unloaded (video below).
San Diego Police Department Officer Frank Cali said that Clayton had been drinking with a woman at a bar. After returning to his Pacific Beach home, Clayton had tried to convince the woman that his 9 mm pistol was safe to handle by putting it to his head and pulling the trigger.
Clayton is now on life support.

Basic firearms safety rules would have prevented this. Instead, this moron had to go act macho, and now he's a vegetable.
I recall one actor shooting himself in the head with a blank cartridge and dying as a result.
I think he should have stuck with a video on Tosh.0, instead of going for a "Darwin Award."
RULE #1: All guns are always loaded. (It's always the "unloaded" ones that cause this kind of trouble.)
RULE #2: Never point your gun at anything you cannot afford to destroy.
I guess even if you're highly trained, it's not good to handle guns when you're drunk.
Probably best not to handle guns, women, or any attempts of common sense or knowing what's safe. A lot of late-teen and 20-somthing Navy and Marine personnel where I live - some recently back from deployments -- like living on the edge. Some of them get killed or injured doing stupid things, usually on motorcycles and cars. Not too many gun mishaps, but almost all related to booze.
