Video: At Least 2 People Killed, 8 Injured in Empire State Building Shooting

| by Alex Groberman

Two people were killed and eight others were reportedly injured early Friday morning in a shooting outside of the Empire State Building.

Originally the New York Post reported that a conflict between two men that started around 9 a.m. on the very busy intersection of 34th Street and Fifth Avenue was what led to the shooting. As more details trickled in, that conflict between two men turned into: “a disgruntled worker stalked a colleague down a Midtown street, shot him dead and then turned his weapon on random pedestrians outside the Empire State Building.”

Now, over two hours after the shooting originally took place, we appear to have finally zeroed in on what actually happened: "A fired worker stalked his boss down a Midtown street, shot him dead and then turned his weapon on random pedestrians outside the Empire State Building."

(Ed. Note: This story is being updated as information comes in.)

Responding NYPD officers ultimately killed the shooter.

Details remain murky at the moment but, per the Post, victims were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and Bellevue Hospital.
